K-ON 2/5 Piece of crap.

When crap like this is popular, KyoAni don’t need to work a day in their lives. Their random moe generator can do it all for them. Every time I think of this series the score gets lower but I’m trying to be rational and leave it alone.

Plot: Oh you think there’s a plot do you? well you’re wrong! Before this series started it was thought it would be about music, when it started that thought was still the case. The way the instruments and equipment were real, brand names were real, the way they played was animated well. This was all a lie. The series isnt about this, its about drinking tea and doing silly every day things. Those things can actually be quite entertaining, or the slice of life genre would be awful. But no its just tea drinking and going to the beach ……twice. Oh such a masterful move there as was the introducing a new character just before the second beach ep. She’s basicly the same as another but just a tiny bit different. This is based on a 4koma, but those can be quite entertaining so that’s no excuse for this being excrement.

My god this series was ****.

Characters: If this series had good characters and some actually good humour it might have been salvagable. But no! They’re just the usual moe types …other series take these and can actually make them interesting. But KyoAni have achieved something here, they have made the characters amazingly dull and stupid. They clearly aimed this series at the type of crowd who drool over anything remotely moe. But these characters have empty moeness piled on so thick its just pathetic. Mio is the worst for this since thats all there is to her character. Kaiji has more moe in the tip of his nose than she has at all. (as I mentioned earlier ). The rest arnt so bad, they have some things to them that arnt oh so obvious moe, but not alot. They really all suck. They were just **** out of the random moe generator. Somehow they have a huge following on the internet. This leads me to the belief that generally Otaku are idiots. The success of DVD sales and anything from pens to toilets with a K-ON character on them confirms this.

Animation: I thought this was plain and ****. The 1% of the ep where they were actually playing their instruments didnt seem to be too badly animated. When they were playing at the school festival for the first time (they did it twice) rather than show them playing for the whole song they cut to a music video, not a bad idea but the intention was to just put them in different outfits. They do that so bloody often. Clearly this series was made to be as low budget as possible but to have maximum profits. Its worked.

Sound: Dull, didnt care for either the OP or the ED. A series centered around music should have a really strong OP/ED. But this series isnt about music so any old **** would have worked, they just need the characters to be dressed up and “moe”.

It seems an amazing coincidence that instrument sales went up quite alot when this series aired. The most popular one just happened to be the ones the characters used. And they just happened to be advertised with K-ON characters. Dont think no one would see this you bastards. This is why they used real brands, so there could be even more money to be made. There’s a load of figures coming out but that happens with pretty much every series so thats not really a surprise.

Hmmm, when I saw this in the preview thread, I thought it looked like a load of bull urine so wouldnt have touched it. But some people …who arnt moe fags and …usually have some sense said good things about it, a few people including Onee-sama() compared it to Beck. Beck was ******* awesome, K-ON is ******* ****. Such a comparison is an insult. I did watch Detroit Metal City before starting this, that was ******* hilarious. K-On was dire.

At one point the teacher …whatever her name was went all angry Krauser, but it was over in seconds and never happened again. From then on she just tried to get the characters to wear odd outfits. Such a waste.

People were waiting for a “God Knows” kind of scene with a great performance, it never came. Rather than waste time on this pile of elephant stool just watch that scene from the first Haruhi series again. I really liked Haruhi (the first series!!!! not this endless ******** of the seciond series) and lucky star so I thought they could have done something with this premise. If there’s one thing I will take away from this series, its the pure hate for it.

So in conclusion, people who want a serious anime about music, go ******* elsewhere and dont waste your time with this. If you want something about cute characters watch something else, there’s a ton of series with cute characters doing cute things, which are infinitely better than this pile of donkey turd. But if this kind of thing is …your bag of sick, then you’ll have already seen it, ordered a load of merchandise and got the Mio toilet roll holder on pre order. Please please please jump into a blender.

And for being highly irritating thing to write the series is now at 0/5 that’s right lower than Kekko Kamen.
